IMEI acts as an unique identifier for a cell phone. Tracking by IMEI is especially helpful when the SIM card has been replaced and it is not possible to track by phone number.

How can you track using IMEI?

IMEI makes use of GPS to locate your hand set. Your phone’s in-built location services are needed for this method to work. If location services are turned OFF then IMEI tracking will return last known device location when location services were ON.

There are different ways in which you can track a phone using IMEI and phone number.

Basically You can't track it legally by yourself.

If u still want to to track your smartphone get the proof that it's your smartphone.all it's details. Tell the service provider that our were using in that smartphone about case and prove them that's it's yours they will help you track it down once it's connected to any network

2nd way is that's find mac address of smartphone then from with FERN WiFi cracker in kali Linux to find it .

3rd if it is not stolen but you have lost it and it feels you think some one can return it go online and post IMEI in finder my phone with IME website .

4th if it is Samsung you may have connected Samsung account to it login to it and y here you can find its location irrespective of provider .

5th if you have Gmail in it use find my device for locating your device.

These are only way possible. One more possible way Is go to police they will legally track it down.
